We Are What School Should Be

Our six fundamental propositions give the American School of Bombay our unique value, and this is why families choose us:

  • Our community is Intentionally International.
  • Our pool of Remarkable Educators foster inquiry and empower students with skills, courage and optimism to pursue their dreams.
  • The Educational Ambiance. Our facilities combine multimodal learning spaces, fine and performing arts studios, science suites, a sensory learning hub, and world-class sporting facilities.
  • We encourage Dreams to be Pursued so our students can transition to the next phase of their educational journeys seamlessly.
  • We are committed to truly Individualised Pathways for all students.
  • We facilitate and foster education Beyond the Classroom.

With our home in India’s vibrant cultural and financial capital, Mumbai, and a student population drawn from more than 50 countries, the American School of Bombay is Intentionally International.

Along with being profoundly committed to embracing India, we also maintain a strong international culture. Our school culture delivers an international pedagogy, facilitated by local and international educators, to an international student body.

In any one year, we have up to 80 nationalities represented, with students speaking dozens of languages, and coming from 90 different school systems from around the world.

ASB is committed to providing a safe environment for its students and all members of the community. To this end we strive to ensure the safety and well-being of every child. Child abuse is a violation of a child’s human rights and is an obstacle to a child’s education and/or their physical, emotional, and spiritual development. ASB endorses the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child, of which our host country, India, is a signatory.

The school relies on preventative practices to reduce risk and ensure child protection and will respond effectively to situations that are harmful to our students and our school community. If you would like to report a safeguarding issue please contact Deputyheadofschool@asbindia.org In these uncertain times, it is critical that as a community we reflect on the influences of world events.

As an Intentionally International school, it is more important than ever to identify the big issues that are affecting our students, including addressing injustices, environmental catastrophes, and hate speech.

As a beacon of education, we know that we must, as a school community, actively address injustice and inequality, both philosophically and through explicit teaching, and we are committed to open dialogue with our students, parents, and staff, to better educate ourselves and each other, and make a positive impact on our communities.
