American University Preparatory School

AUP is a private, four-year, co-educational boarding and day high school for grades 9-12 located in Los Angeles, California, at the center of downtown LA. AUP was founded upon the vision to establish an academically rigorous and technology-rich learning high school environment where students would engage in project-based learning and domestic and international internships within an interdisciplinary digital media arts, computer science humanities, social science, and global leadership.

Our instructional methodology is centered on a blended learning approach. The combination of face-to-face instruction with technology-mediated activities provides students greater access to individualized and differentiated instruction, group collaboration, and communication with faculty and peers. We set our class sizes small so as to allow for increased participation from the students and more personal attention to the student.

AUPproduced its first graduates in 2017. The first graduating high school class received acceptances to some of the most prestigious universities and colleges in the United States, including Harvard University, Stanford University, Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), UC Berkeley, Columbia University, Purdue University, University of Pennsylvania, University of Michigan, University of Southern California, Texas A&M and the Juilliard School of Performing Arts. A total of 48 prestigious and top-tier university offers were received with 20% of the graduates admitted to the top five universities and colleges and 50% of the graduates admitted to the top 20 universities and colleges in the United States.

At AUP School, students learn to think critically, independently and uniquely with the help of world-class experienced faculty. Students engage in project-based, interdisciplinary, learning activities and enroll in coursework that prepares them for enrollment at top-notch universities across the United States and the world.
