Archbishop Carney Regional Secondary School is centered in Christ. This school’s primary commitment is to educate students in a Catholic environment, to challenge them to excel in all virtuous aspects of life, and to encourage them to use their gifts in the service of the community.
In the spirit of a Christ-centered school, Campus Ministry at Archbishop Carney Regional Secondary School exists to support the spiritual growth of staff, students, parents, and alumni. We do this by creating and coordinating opportunities in the following areas: Prayer and Liturgy, Service and Outreach, and Retreats. Through these experiences, our faith is explored, and experienced, so all are able to live out and grow in their faith. Our students are challenged and encouraged to put their professed faith into action and discover how they can make a difference in the world, serving God and others with compassion and love.
For our students, a retreat is a special time away from their normal routines to reflect on their lives, to experience new things, to enjoy being with their friends and to learn more about one another, to pray, and to quiet themselves down to be open to God. For many students, our retreats are highlights of their memories of Carney and sometimes become a turning point in their lives as they move forward on their faith journeys. Currently we offer a one-day Grade 10 retreat, and a two-day Grade 11 and Grade 12 retreat.
