Architecture & Interior Designer

Job Summary

• Designing buildings and other structures
• Complying with public safety regulations, local planning regulations and restrictions
  Overseeing building construction
• Having regular meetings to discuss detailed design proposals and establish requirements
• Capturing the design on paper, producing detailed drawings and testing the feasibility of designs with technology such as CAD
• Writing construction documents, detailing instructions for construction experts and contractors
• Finalize plans using CAD applications to varying degrees of detail as required by the project, including design plans, floor plans, electrical layouts, and information needed for building permits
• Develop a project timeline and estimates for project costs
• Obtain client approval for interior design plan and cost estimate
• Place orders for all supplies and materials
• Oversee installation of the design elements
• Visiting the site and negotiating with contractors and resolving any problems that may arise during construction

Skills

• Bachelor’s degree in interior design, architecture, or related field strongly preferred
• Superior artistic and creative ability
• Strong problem-solving skills
• Attention to detail and an aptitude for visualization
• Working knowledge of technical programs
• Prior experience as an architect or interior designer
