Arden offers your child a well-rounded education. And while we deliver an outstanding academic education, our teachers focus on the holistic development of each student: students are mentally, physically, emotionally and spiritually challenged within a Christian environment. We believe in the uniqueness of each and every child, made in the image of God. We also believe that it takes a community to raise that child – a special partnership between our parents, extended family, teachers and the wider Arden community. The strength of this partnership is reflected in the success of our students.

Arden is a vibrant learning community. Our teachers are highly skilled, passionate educators who focus on quality teaching and learning. Learning activities are student centred and strengths based, promoting personal responsibility and deep engagement. We want our students to become lifelong learners. We also aim to foster in our graduates curiosity, courage and compassion so that they develop into individuals who engage with and positively impact the 21st Century world in which they live.

Arden’s Mission and Vision encapsulate the powerful, traditional strengths of the School while also directing energy towards new areas of focus as we prepare our students for the future. Our mission is the bedrock of our School; anchored in Christ. Centred on the Christian faith and finding joy in God, Arden provides an exceptional co-educational learning experience that nurtures the uniqueness of confident, capable global citizens.

Our vision is a ‘light on a hill’; guiding our path and lifting our sights. Arden strives to be an inspiring learning community that engages the mind, nurtures the spirit and nourishes the body within a caring Christian environment. Arden graduates are curious, courageous and compassionate men and women with an enduring passion for learning who transform the communities in which they live and work. When we speak of an inspiring learning community this includes not only students highly engaged in their learning, but also the ongoing professional development of our educators and the involvement of our parents as active partners and participants.

At Arden we encourage our students to experience the joy that is found in a relationship with Jesus Christ. Flowing from this, we want our students to consider the needs of others and to reflect on the development of their character under God. We take a wholistic approach to learning at Arden, resulting in well-rounded graduates. In a supportive, nurturing atmosphere, we foster excellence in academic and co-curricular endeavour, inspiring our students to become lifelong learners and confident, capable global citizens.

We see each child as a unique individual, made in the image of God and our approach to pastoral care ensures we value and nurture students in order to build high levels of wellbeing and resilience. We also believe students learn best when they are happy, respected and valued. We seek to engage students in a 21st century learning environment. While we see the teaching of literacy and numeracy skills as essential and fundamental, we also focus on higher order thinking skills to set up our students for lifelong learning.

Technology is integrated into all aspects of the curriculum at Arden, and our teachers differentiate teaching and learning activities within the classroom. We tailor and design strategies to meet the needs of students who require learning support. We also educate a significant proportion of students who possess exceptional learning potential with our gifted and talented programs. The co-educational experience of Arden best prepares students to understand themselves, to appreciate and value difference, and to explore their talents within a supportive environment; preparing them to take their places confidently and naturally in the wider community.

The Arden learning journey commences with an engaging Pre-School program for three and four year old girls and boys. Our program offers young children the ideal environment to prepare for more formal schooling. Our Pre-School is licensed to cater for a maximum of 25 children per day and operates between 8.30am and 2.45pm. We have three full-time staff on duty each day. In general, children who are three years old by 1 February attend on Thursdays and Fridays while children who are four years old by 1 February make up the older group and attend on Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays.

At Arden each child in our care is recognised for their unique gifts and is treated as a very special individual. Our Pre-School curriculum is an exciting first step as we encourage children to become lifelong learners. We provide a Christian, nurturing and educational environment for children to prepare them for the future. Our Pre-School curriculum is developmentally appropriate and based on the Australian Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF).

Learning in the Primary School is focused on the provision of exceptional teaching in literacy and numeracy with the aim to foster each student’s proficiency in these areas. Student learning is enriched and broadened through our science, Human Society and Its Environment (HSIE), music, languages, art, library, computing and physical education programs. Our genuine Christian context means students are also encouraged to grow in their knowledge of the Bible and in exploring or developing a Christian faith.  Arden follows secondary school curriculum set by the NSW Board of Studies, Teaching and Educational Standards from Year 7 to Year 12. The curriculum initially allows for a breadth of experience and then for a greater concentration on a student’s passions.
