Our mission is to educate children who are outstanding in every respect. Not only are all pupils encouraged to push themselves in the classroom, on the sports field, in the school play, in the pipe-band, orchestra or choir but to develop excellent social skills and manners which are essential in life.

A communal spirit permeates the school be it at lunch where staff and pupils dine together or at daily, whole school assemblies and congregational singing.

We encourage our pupils to take risks with their learning through the development of a growth mindset. This approach to learning needs a safety net of care which is not only provided by the teachers and matrons but which comes from the pupils themselves, supporting each other through their Ardvreck journey.

Our ethos is to instil the core principles of honesty, sense of duty and sound moral judgement. We take our responsibilities seriously by teaching each pupil that the umpire’s decision is final and that, in life, being truthful to oneself is one of the most important qualities for success.

Everyone is aware of the emotional and physical benefits of regular exercise and, at Ardvreck, our aim is to instil a lifelong commitment to fitness. All staff and pupils head out every afternoon to make use of our fine sporting facilities. Children are coached in a variety of team sports and we regularly play matches against other schools. Ardvreck develops skilful, vigorous and determined children who put the good of the team before themselves and who are modest in success and gracious in defeat.
