The mission of The Art Institute of Houston and its branch campuses, The Art Institute of Austin and The Art Institute of San Antonio, is to provide a quality, collaborative academic environment for individuals seeking creative careers through higher education. As a private, multi-campus college, our bachelor degrees, associate degrees, and diploma programs incorporate traditional liberal arts, professional education, and management level competencies with hands-on instruction. Faculty use learning-centered methodology to prepare students for entry- level positions in the design, media, fashion, and culinary arts fields as well as lifelong learning.
At The Art Institute of Austin, we pride ourselves in developing creative minds so that they can do great things. Of course, none of this would be possible without our team of passionate instructors and motivated staff. The hands-on education we provide produces knowledgeable, capable graduates with a rich skill set to utilize in navigating the challenges and rewards of the creative world.
Being located in Austin also provides a very special experience for our students. Austin is a city where we strive to “keep it weird,” and in doing so, it is an arts magnet. The city houses and sustains live music, digital exploration, design, fashion, and film, and has an ever-growing foodie scene. Our relationship to the local arts scene is something we take great pride in, as it is often these unique experiences that provide impactful and eye-opening opportunities for our students.
We’re all about helping connect you to a creative career where you do what you love. And a big part of that is connecting you with new people and places, and gathering new experiences outside the classroom. We’re here to help you explore the campus and the city, and get involved in organizations, clubs and activities, on and off campus. Because all those experiences enrich not only your life, but your creativity.
You’ll work hard to earn your degree. We’ll work just as hard to help you launch your career. At The Art Institutes, your instructors will do everything they can to help you build the marketable skills and mental toughness to compete in the real world. But the support doesn’t end there. Our Career Services team offers a bundle of valuable resources to help you plan and launch your professional future.
The Art Institute of Austin's Department of Student Services is committed to providing comprehensive student services that promotes student engagement, growth, and development for all students. Student Services does this by providing coordinated, intentional services that supports all of our students' individual academic and personal development.
