The Department of Comparative Literature at Koç University, Istanbul, invites applications for one or more full-time faculty positions (open-rank) to begin. We seek candidates with a comparative research profile in one of the following areas:
The successful candidate will have an active research agenda and demonstrable record of original research in the field. S/he is expected to engage in the intellectual life of our department with diverse geographical, theoretical, linguistic, and methodological interests, and to teach broadly on the Department’s curriculum as appropriate. At the time of employment, candidates should have a PhD.
Junior appointments are at the level of Assistant Professor and initially for a period of three years with opportunities for renewal and advancement. The teaching load for Assistant Professors is three courses per year, and two courses per semester for Associate Professors.
Located in Istanbul, Turkey, Koç University is an internationally recognized, English-instruction research university. The Department of Comparative Literature is expanding and plans to open a postgraduate programme in the near future. The successful candidate is expected to complement its existing strengths and actively participate in curriculum development.
