Assistant Professor - Ovarian Cancer Biology

Job Summary

The Faculty of Medicine at the University of Ottawa, in partnership with the Ottawa Hospital Research Institute, invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position related to Cancer Research within the Department of Cellular and Molecular Medicine. The applicant must be willing to develop a program that includes a focus on ovarian cancer. This department, comprised of over 100 faculty members, features a vibrant research atmosphere addressing fundamental questions in basic biomedical research with strong links to translational and clinical research.

The successful candidate will be expected to obtain an appointment in the Cancer Therapeutics Program of the Ottawa Hospital Research Institute. The successful candidate will also be expected to establish and maintain a vigorous program of independent, externally funded research and to contribute to undergraduate and graduate teaching programs.

Duties
The functions of a member of the academic staff include, in varying proportions

• Teaching activities;
• Scholarly activities revealed by research;
• Academic service activities,
• Supervision of graduate students.

Education
PhD or MD/PhD

Work experience
Postdoctoral experience with demonstrated excellent research achievement. A commitment to teaching and graduate training, a strong track record in, and a commitment to, interdisciplinary collaboration. Excellent communication skills in either English or French
