The Program Director will promote excellence in research and teaching in Translation and Interpreting within the department and lead the design and implementation of a revised curriculum for the suite of Translation and Interpreting courses at Macquarie University. He or she will work closely with program directors in the other programs in the department and in other departments, the Head of Department, the Deputy Heads of Department, and Macquarie International in the strategic management of the Translation and Interpreting program. The role of director will be for a renewable 3-year term. The academic appointment will be continuing.
Your strong leadership competencies include the ability to implement complex changes to curricula and strategic planning to meet market needs and to recruit high quality domestic and international students. You will have experience leading and innovating a postgraduate program in Translation and Interpreting, and teaching in specialist units consistent with the suite of courses and units on offer at Macquarie. You will proficient in the use of contemporary translation and/or interpreting technology and you integrate this technology into curriculum. You have made innovative contributions in pedagogy, teaching practice and/or curriculum development and your research interest align with the research discipline of Translation and Interpreting. Ideally you will have an intimate knowledge of the Australian Higher Education sector.
