A school’s mission statement explains openly, to the world, what it values in education. When reviewing our mission, it is clear that we appreciate academic rigor and, the importance of developing the whole child socially and emotionally while exhibiting integrity and ethics. BIS students are caring towards their local and global neighbors. They realize they have a responsibility to their community and their world as they demonstrate their international-mindedness.
We are proud of BIS’s long, 48-year history. We are the most diverse international school in Bandung; our teachers and students represent approximately 30 different nationalities. Furthermore, we offer the International Baccalaureate Primary Years Programme (IBPYP ages 3-12) and the prestigious International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IBDP ages 17-18) where the DP students consistently perform higher than the world average.
BIS’s 48 years of experience in Bandung, our diversity and commitment to the IB and the international curriculum certainly set us apart from schools in the city. However, what is really special about BIS is the small community that we have created and nurtured over the years. Once you step on the school campus, the community feel is almost palpable. This sense of community is a hallmark of BIS.
How do we build this community at BIS? We endeavor to create a collective efficacy between students, teachers and parents. When each stakeholder works collaboratively towards a common goal, great results will occur no matter the obstacles; there is a growth mindset that we maintain.
We understand that forming a strong triangular relationship between parents, students and the school helps to enhance student achievement and builds trust between the school and our families. To do this successfully is no small feat and by no means do we take what has been built for granted.

My daughter is a very happy student at BIS, learns a lot and has great fun with her class- and schoolmates. I can only recommend this place to anyone who values top-tier international education in a very friendly and supportive environment. There is no school in or around Bandung with this level of education and extracurricular activities and offerings.

I witnessed well-rounded growth in my children in just their first year. As a nonprofit IB school it upholds values that are close to our hearts including service, integrity and caring, global citizenship and real world applications. As a parent i feel included and heard in the school’s efforts to continually improve and advance it orogrammes and facilities. My children enjoy going to school and aspire to continue at BIS till high school.

BIS is the best accredited IB international school in Bandung. The teachers have Masters degrees from prestigious universities. It's the real deal, just go to their website. It has a great facility, amazing kids and a fun engaging community.

Warm and welcoming.. A school with a difference approach to Education where there is a fine balance between academic rigour and holistic learning. My kids enjoy the school most and are confident of facing the competitive examinations in India and Indonesia.

I was a student from the age of 2 to 15, and BIS was an utterly marvellous school. Particularly during my teen years, when emotional issues arose, the entirety of the staff was so accommodating, and showed genuine concern whilst actively seeking methods to assist me throughout those difficult times.
The teachers were a prime example of what the education system worldwide should aspire to be - engaging and thought-provoking in lessons, but also ensuring that students felt safe and supported beyond academia. While many authority figures inherently demand respect, the staff of BIS rightfully earned it, and I wish more schools were able to adopt this method of teaching.
