Barrington Primary School is situated in a largely residential area, approximately midway between Bexleyheath and Welling train stations. The school is housed in a pleasant modern building on a single level, with attractive grounds which include a woodland, kitchen garden, pond area and quiet gardens.
Barrington is a one form entry school with bright, airy and well-resourced classrooms, a hall, library, a special needs resourced provision and a neighbouring pre-school facility. We are part of the Ignis Academy Trust with the Bedonwell Federation.
Each classroom is largely self-contained, with children’s cloakrooms and toilets close by. The hall is used for collective worship (assemblies), lunch, PE, dance, drama and musical activities and for formal and informal meetings with parents.
Choosing the right school for your child is one of the most important choices that you will make. You will want to be assured that your child goes to a school that is happy, caring and secure, which values your child and their contributions and which believes that children should be challenged to achieve their full potential
We are very proud of our school, our pupils and their success. We believe that this school is special and the relationships we develop with our children and their families enable us to create a friendly, caring and supportive atmosphere. Our committed teaching and support staff strive to bring out the very best in our children and equip them with the skills they will need for the future, inspiring them with a passion for learning.
Our vision statement
At Barrington we aim to create:A caring and stimulating environment, where all children have the opportunity to succeed
Our values
Children, staff, governors and parents have agreed a set of values for our school. At Barrington, we:
In order to achieve these aims, we hope to create a friendly atmosphere, taking special care to establish a happy relationship with children from their first day at school. we encourage the children to have a caring and responsible attitude towards one another and a respect for property belonging to other individuals and the community. Children should feel part of the school, not just the class, meet teachers from other classes and feel that they have an important contribution to make to the whole school.
Knowing children are naturally inquisitive, we aim to use this to guide the children to discover much for themselves, thus laying a foundation for independent learning.
