At Belvoir we have formulated our vision in terms of human growth and development, rather than the ladder of content in subject areas. Espousing a child centered, holistic philosophy, we attempt to show the seeds of humanism and understanding among Belvoirians, focusing on the development stage of the student. The child centered experiences provided in the primary section gradually develops into a content directed curriculum in the senior section.

A broad, comprehensive and balanced educational programme is provided addressing the physical, social, emotional and intellectual needs of the rapidly growing and changing needs of the individual, passing through infancy to pre-adolescent age. We believe that each child is unique, and brings with him to school, eagerness, curiosity, and a desire t find out. Our teachers try to draw out, not to pour in and set the stage for the inquiring mind, to create a learning situation which will invite the child to explore, and retain what they have learnt, enabling them to apply to new situations, the improved skills they have gained.

Being one of the pioneer international schools to be established in the island Belvoir had been instrumental in moulding youth of potential over the last 31 years. Reputed for its London O/L and A/L results BCI has been producing “Stars” who have excelled in an assortment of academic spheres in top ranking universities in UK, USA, Eastern Europe and Australia.

Belvoir College International, which was inaugurated in January 1989, is the Third International school to be established in Sri Lanka. The vision of Mr. H.C. Pieris the founder of the school could be encapsulated in one sentence as “An education which is international in fervor and National in flavor”, with the motto of the college Truth – Courage – Charity being upheld by each and every student that passes through the school.

Our mission is to inculcate in students social skills such as how to be independent ,how to share, how to be patient, how to accept victory and defeat and how to follow directions and guide the students to become educated, responsible, healthy and disciplined individuals.
