welcome to Beulah Junior School’s website. Running through the heart of our school are our core values:

  • Success
  • Unity
  • Pride
  • Enjoyment
  • Respect

Our core values have enabled us to develop a strong and caring whole school community, which in turn has helped us go from strength to strength.  Our thoughtful and supportive staff ensure our children are at the centre of everything we do. The staff have created a supportive, friendly and nurturing environment which enables all children to feel safe and know they are listened to.

By using a spiral curriculum, we are able to introduce complex topics to our children in a way that is both accessible and engaging. The sequential units, within the curriculum, also support the children in embedding the learning over time.

Through a thorough understanding of the developmental needs of all of our children, they are given appropriate support and guidance to access all areas of the curriculum and any extracurricular activities held.

We strive to ensure all our children believe in themselves and their abilities and develop an understanding that their future possibilities are endless At Beulah Juniors, our Broad and Balanced curriculum follows the 'Kapow' schemes of learning, developed by subject specialists, first and foremost to be fun and engaging for pupils and also to ensure there is clear progression of knowledge and skills which run within year groups and throughout the school.

Each topic has a 'Knowledge Organiser' which is used both in school and at home to clarify key learning and specific vocabulary which pupils will need to master in order to be ready for the next steps in their learning journey. Lessons are based around engaging practical activities and tasks which enable pupils to reflect upon and review what they have understood.

Our assessment procedures, formative and summative, have been devised to run alongside the curriculum. Lessons begin with a review of prior learning and frequent quizzing enables both pupils and teachers to assess what has been learned and remembered. Links are also made to future learning and to applications of the subject specific material in the wider world.
