Blairdardie Primary School

At Blairdardie Primary we are committed to developing each pupil to their fullest potential, working with parents/carers to ensure each pupil receives support and challenge in all aspects of school life and ensuring that staff receive quality professional development to ensure that each pupil benefits from the highest quality learning and teaching experiences.

We are a non-denominational school, with a current school roll of around 406 pupils. Staff, children, parents and the community work very closely together to ensure that the children are well equipped with skills for learning, life and work in and beyond school.

Curriculum for Excellence is now in use across Scotland for all 3-18 year olds – wherever they learn. It aims to raise standards and prepare our children for the future by equipping them for the jobs of tomorrow in a fast changing world.

Curriculum for Excellence enables professionals to teach subjects creatively, to work together across the school and with other schools, to share best practice and explore learning together. Glow, Scotland’s unique, world-leading, online network supports learners and teachers in this and plans are already in place for parents across the country to have access to Glow.

Our vision for Blairdardie Primary School is that of a Sustainable, Environmentally Progressive Centre of Active Learning, with all children learning through a variety of stimulating learning experiences and experiencing increased independence in their learning. We want all children to feel valued, safe and happy and all to be achieving their full potential.

At Blairdardie we value the qualities of honesty, hard work, helping others and having a positive attitude. Our aim is for all children to be given the opportunity to develop into positive, healthy young adults and to make the most of their educational opportunities.

We as a whole staff work together to provide a caring, stimulating and positive environment where the quality of teaching and learning encourages children to reach their full potential as successful learners, responsible citizens, effective contributors and confident individuals.
