Our school is built with an eye toward the future. Founded by educators, entrepreneurs, and engineers, Bloom KKCA Academy provides an innovative G1-6 bilingual, project-based education.

From a NASA engineer to a reading specialist with more than 1,000 hours of training, our teachers are what make Bloom special.

Care, Think, Act is our education model that addresses our students' holistic development: their wellbeing, positive mindsets, disciplinary thinking, and engagement with the community.

CARE:

At Bloom KKCA Academy, we embed positive education into every aspect of the school. Through our daily campfires, where character and positive education are taught explicitly, students learn to take care of themselves and those around them. Our project-based curriculum also asks students to engage deeply with, and thereby care for, their community and the world around them.

THINK:

A key pillar of our curriculum is the cultivation of mindsets: growth mindset, creative mindset, entrepreneurial mindset, and sustainability mindset.

Instead of viewing knowledge as subjects, a mere collection of dates, actors, formulas and facts, our students engage in disciplinary learning where they learn to think like a mathematician, artist, engineer, or historian. This gives them diverse ways to make sense of the world and many ways to solve problems and apply knowledge.

ACT:

Our school’s bias for action comes through the service that students take on for their community and our incorporation of project-based learning at every grade level. In grade 2, for example, students collect and analyze their own data of temperature and humidity to study the natural world using the scientific engineering method.

Our Approach:

Our approach to education is to look past conventional expectations to attend to the child in front of us, the whole child, full of unique potential.

Our bilingual curriculum (Mandarin and English) combines a project-based approach with research-based, academically rigorous programs.

We are a future-oriented school that goes above and beyond for the things that matter, whether it is finding the best teachers who are capable and caring or designing an exceptional project-based innovation program.

While no one can predict the future, we now know a great deal about how to prepare children well for the future. Pioneering schools, educational leaders and researchers, governments around the globe have investigated and implemented new ways of running schools - successful models exist and we have studied them.

Being bilingual, multicultural is part of our DNA but this is expressed in unique ways. We integrate both Chinese and English into different subjects from math to art as well as our daily campfires, projects, and field trips. Our students work in two languages to develop applied fluency and we also draw from innovation practices from the East as well as the West. Our bilingual program focuses not only on guiding students to become bilingual and biliterate, but just as importantly, we focus on the multicultural world we live in to appreciate differences and to find unity in diversity. In addition to the diversity among our staff and students, we make the most of the multilingual and multicultural aspects of our city of Hong Kong to give meaningful context to language learning and usage.
