Our school was founded in 1910. We are extremely proud of our reputation for providing a caring and purposeful environment in which the individual needs of each child are recognised, and their achievements and abilities are celebrated.

We are a very happy school where children, parents, carers, staff and governors work in harmony to ensure every child receives the very best start to their education . We believe that our school is very special and the relationships we develop with our children and their families enables us to create a friendly, caring and supportive atmosphere where all children flourish and develop.

We are an inclusive community and we know that our aims can only be fully realised when children, parents, staff and friends all contribute to the rich and varied provision. Our committed teaching and support staff strive to bring out the very best in our children and equip them with the skills they will need for the future. We place great emphasis upon the well-being and personal development of every child and encourage them to have self-discipline, tolerance and a sense of responsibility for others and the environment. Staff ensure that each classroom provides a happy, safe and exciting learning environment where children feel they are valued as unique members of our school community.

The Department of Education has set out that all schools should promote fundamental British values. These values are: democracy the rule of law individual liberty mutual respect and tolerance of those with different faiths and beliefs.

We are pleased to announce an exciting new opportunity to enhance your child’s learning both at home and school. This year, Bournville Infant School has adopted the Purple Mash scheme of work. In school, this will provide the children with curriculum coverage for Computing by teaching them the skills they need according to the National Curriculum. It also provides a huge selection of activities, games, creative tools and learning resources across the wider curriculum, including reading, writing and maths.
