Bucks New University is a new breed of university, focusing on degrees that are professional and practical, as well as academic. Young in outlook, but well established in the fields we specialise in, we offer high quality, professionally-driven university courses, in everything from nursing, health and social care, to cyber fraud detection, textiles and aviation. You can read more about what we offer on this site, including our courses, facilities and student experience – as well as the research and business projects we are involved in.
Or come and see for yourself what Bucks is about on our next open day – we’d be delighted to show you around. We believe in offering opportunities to everyone who has the potential to benefit from higher education. And to do that, partnerships are a vital part of our success. As a university, we have excellent links with industry, associations and governing bodies. Our partnerships help to enhance the way our students gain knowledge and engage in activities at Bucks. And we encourage staff from the companies and organisations we work with to get involved in things like lecture programmes, visits and work experience. It’s an essential part of helping our students build the skills they need for the workplace.
Our university was a founding member of 4C, an organisation that brings together socially responsible businesses with voluntary sector requirements. As board members of 4C, we help to set the organisation’s strategic direction and shape its activities. The governance structure at Bucks includes the Council as the University’s formal governing body and Senate its principal academic committee. The activities of both Senate and Council are governed by the University’s Articles and Instrument of Government and the Scheme of Delegation.
On these pages you will find information about the membership, terms of remit and the latest minutes of both Council and Senate and their respective sub-committees. You will also be able to access the University’s regulations, policies and procedures as well as other important information such as the University Calendar.
From offering evening classes to the local community, to teaching soldiers skills to help them find employment after the First World War, Bucks has been many things to many people. We recently celebrated our 125th anniversary and looked back on some remarkable achievements from over the years. We may be proud of our heritage, but we’re excited about the future too. We’re working towards a vision to create an environment where innovation, creativity and enterprise flourish. We’ve already developed a partnership to inspire students in emerging technology, and have plans in place to carry on making a real difference to people’s lives.
We want to make sure all our graduates have the skills and experiences to be able to succeed in today’s demanding and competitive world. That’s why we’ve invested more than £100 million in our facilities across our three campuses. We’ve got some exciting plans to make Bucks an even more inspiring place to study. Our vision focuses on our education, our research and our people. And of course, our students will be at the heart of everything we do.

Thank you once again for doing your part to keep Edarabia the most trusted education source.
The education here has truly been transformative; the dedicated staff goes above and beyond, and the growth I've witnessed in my child fills me with pride.
