At Buckswood we have a clear educational philosophy – The Buckswood Difference. At Buckswood, our school motto is ‘we are preparing for life’ and knowing that every child is different; our warm family atmosphere cultivates a safe, secure space for everyone to flourish, building confidence and resilience whilst discovering new strengths to give every student the tools to succeed. We offer all our students many opportunities to try new things, visit new places, and meet new people; we do not confine our learning to just inside the classroom. A Buckswood education is a personal journey. Every child is different and we recognise and value talent wherever form it takes; be it on the sports field or in the science labs.

At Buckswood, we do not recognize the concept of the ‘average’ for everyone is different and we know that everyone is good at something, and we endeavour to find that something in your child. We want our students to have a zeal for life, have passions and not be afraid to try something new.

At Buckswood we educate students between the ages of 11-18. Students are grouped in one of 3 Key Stages dependent on age. Junior School is for students aged 11-14, GCSE is for students aged 14-16 and Sixth Form is for students aged 16-18. Programmes of study can be found below.

At Buckswood, we believe that sport, both competitive and non competitive, is an important part of student development and wellbeing. At Buckswood there is a sport for everyone! From archery, chess, fencing, flying, fishing, kick-boxing, judo, basketball, hockey as well as the traditional British sports played throughout the seasons like tennis, cricket, football and netball. Buckswood is a place where the beginner can dip their toe and try new sports or international champions can further their training.

At Buckswood we actively strive to create a safe, nurturing and happy environment for our students, we believe this is fundamental in helping them achieve their goals. Through our systems of care, we aim to create an environment where students feel valued and supported, and develop a resilience to be able to tackle whatever life may throw at them.
