Bukkyo University seeks to develop human resources with well-rounded humanity, unshaken sense of ethics, and the spirit of thankfulness based on the spirit of Buddhism. For this reason, we will accept those who are interested in themselves, the surrounding society, and people living there, and have a strong will to improve themselves and contribute to the society and other people.

It is our mission to contribute to the enhancement of global culture and the progress of the welfare of all the human beings in the world by realizing the target of developing proactive people with personality and insight exalted based on the lofty spirit of Buddhism.

Bukkyo University places more emphasis on students with quality and enthusiasm for learning desired by respective departments and schools rather than students with superficial academic ability.

In order to develop abilities worthy of receiving degrees previously mentioned, comprehensive liberal education, and specialized abilities, we organize curriculums according to the curriculum policy as described below and implement educational activities through them.

We grant, based on the aforementioned the purpose of developing human resources, degrees (bachelorship) to students who have developed comprehensive abilities as described below, completed curriculums predetermined based on the purpose of developing human resources in respective Departments and Schools, and acquired credits as required therein.

Other Purposes of Education:

• To offer curriculums for developing human resources with well-rounded humanity, unshaken sense of ethics, and the spirit of thankfulness based on the spirit of Buddhism
• To provide students with a variety of learning and training opportunities such as experiences and practices for developing their ability to look at and understand themselves and to understand the surrounding environment and people around.
• To offer curriculums for developing human resources with ability and skills to grasp and solve issues in specialized areas and ability to comprehensively use their knowledge and skills.
• To provide a wide array of people with opportunities for lifelong education.
• To enhance support to students both in and outside the curriculums.
• To positively promote vocational guidance (career guidance) according to specialized areas.
