With more than 350 million passengers daily, Cairo’s public transport is one of the busiest in the world. Buses in Cairo have different service lines at varying prices. The Cairo Transport Authority runs standard full-sized bus and mini buses. Most of these buses do not have working AC system.
There are also privately-owned Cairo Taxi and micro-buses (cheapest form of public transport). The bus 111 goes from outside Terminal 1 at the airport, to Ramses station and beyond. Fare for micro buses is usually less than 1 LE.
