Carnarvon Christian School is located in the coastal horticultural and fishing town of Carnarvon 900km north of Perth. The region is famous for its year round mild climate and its position, within a half day’s drive of the World heritage area of Shark Bay and the beautiful Ningaloo reef. We are an independent, co-educational primary school and cater for students from 3 year old Kindergarten to Year 6.

The school buildings are nestled amongst 5.7 hectares of natural bushland and grassed areas. The air-conditioned classrooms are extremely well resourced. CCS also has a large hall, canteen, library and a large undercover Sports Area.

CCS is a non-denominational school which draws children from Christian families around Carnarvon, but also welcomes enrolment of children from non-Christian families who are willing to support our ethos and faith.

CCS is a member of Christian Education National (CEN), a community of around 20 000 students and their parents doing what they can’t do alone. A community committed to demonstrating a vibrant biblical faith which permeates every aspect of worldview, philosophy, policy, and practice in its association and schools.

CCS is also a member of the Independent Schools of W.A (AISWA) which offers support and professional learning. We are currently developing an Eco Park complete with salt tolerant exotic fruit trees; a community garden with Arboretum of salt tolerant eucalypts and an outdoor classroom We have future plans of building an eco playground, open air gym and walk trails winding through our natural habitat.

Vision is to be a vibrant and caring school community, focused on a Christ-centred education. In partnership with families, Carnarvon Christian School aims to provide an all-encompassing education, in the light of God’s Word. Students will be encouraged to develop positive relationships and their God given talents as they grow towards Christian maturity.

The Western Australian Curriculum sets out the core knowledge, understanding, skills and general capabilities that are important for Carnarvon Christian School students. It describes the learning entitlement of students as a foundation for their future learning, growth and active participation in the Australian community.

Carnarvon Christian School provides a well-balanced curriculum but has different priorities in its two phrases of learning. Literacy and numeracy, integrated across the curriculum, are priority areas in the early years (typically Kindergarten-Year 2, and into Years 3-4). The emphasis moves to encompass all eight learning areas in the upper primary years 5 and 6.
