Chad Vale Primary School

Chad Vale is a two-form entry primary school and is maintained by the local authority. The school (which opened in 1974 as a one-form entry primary school) is situated in secluded, pleasant grounds with adjacent woodland and has its own sports field, outdoor multi-use games area and an attractive grassed play area. Children are admitted into our Reception classes at the beginning of the school year in which they are five and transfer from Chad Vale to secondary schools at the age of eleven. We also accept ‘in-year’ transfers of children if we have spaces available.

It is our vision to create a learning community that provides the highest quality of learning and teaching to enable our children to achieve and exceed their potential. We are extremely proud of our school, our well-behaved, confident, caring and creative children; our exciting curriculum that brings learning to life and the opportunities we provide to embed lasting memories and a lifelong love of learning.

We have worked hard over the last 15 years to create a warm, caring and nurturing school environment which replicates the safety and security children have at home. This has become well known as 'The Chad Vale Way' and everybody involved with our school becomes part of 'The Chad Vale Family'. Within school, we have extremely high expectations for learning and behaviour and we focus on ensuring that children achieve the very best that they can.

Alongside the national curriculum we provide a rich and varied learning program which prepares children very well for life in secondary school and later life. We teach the children about life skills, equality and diversity and give many opportunities for lifetime memories including a range of off-site visits and longer residential experiences. We instill a set of core values; of kindness, understanding, tolerance and a motivation to learn that are remembered long after the children have left.
