Chinmaya Vishwavidyapeeth (CVV) is a Deemed-to-be-University in the 'de novo' category, started in 2016, the centenary year of the inspirational Visionary and Founder of Chinmaya Mission, and renowned Vedantic master and teacher par excellence, Swami Chinmayananda. CVV, with its headquarters at Chinmaya International Foundation (Adi Sankara Nilayam, Ernakulam, Kerala, India), has been established as a torchbearer for the preservation of Indian cultural heritage and its knowledge traditions through higher education.
Founded on the principles of Purity, Spirituality, Practicality and Innovation, our core mission is to blend the ancient and time-tested wisdom of India with presentday knowledge fields. It is breaking new ground where necessary and adopting the merits of all that has come before, but always leaning towards the winds of innovation. Striking a careful balance between the old and new, the organization offers common streams of courses with unique electives and supplementary subjects, with an intent to mould the teenagers of today into well-rounded, responsible, value-grounded, young adults that contribute to the nation, and the world at large.
As a University for Sanskrit and Indic Traditions, Chinmaya University aims to create an academic platform that bridges Indian Knowledge Traditions (IKT) with current-day applications in every sphere in society. The university will exceed excellence in higher learning and research with the objective of exploring, conserving and sharing the contemporary relevance of Indian cultural heritage and IKT. The university aims to integrate the best practices of modern pedagogical advances with the beauty of traditional Gurukula model of learning and prepare students to address contemporary challenges, inspiring them to leave a positive impact on the world as confident and cultured contributors to society.
It is additionally a goal of the University to enable its students to become employable in whatever their chosen field. Imbued with a wider vision of the world and a deep knowledge of their innermost self, graduates can then, it is hoped, effectively participate in nation-building while embodying the noble spirit of service to humanity.
The philosophy of Vedanta and the wisdom of the saints have always guided humanity to this larger vision of life. Students will be encouraged to listen, read, and reflect upon such body of spiritual literature that is conducive to their inner refinement and self-unfoldment. All academics offered at the Chinmaya Vishwavidyapeeth will therefore be aligned to encourage such a quest.
This will go a long way in nourishing ancient Indian knowledge traditions and creating living repositories who will in their turn nurture the tradition for the future. Knowledge of Sanskrit will be a key enabler for the study of original sources. While maintaining the highest degree of academic rigour, the University will specifically provide for courses and ideas and topics that will lead the student to finding a respectable living through gainful employment.
The University aims to transfer the wealth of many thousands of years through innovative pedagogy, teaching methodologies, content and nature of the programmes. The University will strive to be progressive, while retaining the continuity of current best practices.

Thank you once again for doing your part to keep Edarabia the most trusted education source.
Really good and homely infrastructure. The faculties are qualified and their teaching are very professional. They understand the student needs and educate us accordingly. One great thing about Chinmaya is their traditional approach to teaching. I studied Advaita Vedanta here and got to say its been the most memorable years. Eventhough its a rare course the college provide the required facilities for us to build our knowledge - practically as well as theoretically.

One of the best universities for sanskrit and Indic traditions. The students can design their degree. I feel it is something awesome as we are all not endowed with the same faculties. The campus is in a serene yet lush green campus with lot of fruit bearing trees. The food served in the campus is simple yet tasty.

I am an alumnus of this esteemed University (2022 pass out - M.A- Sanskrit Literature and IKS). The functionaries of the CVV (Chinmaya Vishva Vidyaa-peetha) are clear, transparent in the process of administration and have a holistic approach towards education. They checked our grades, co-curricular, extracurricular and volunteering experiences. I felt included in the process and the team did promise a lot during the admission process which were fulfilled during my study tenure there. They are excellent in quality education, expert and friendly professors, academic rigour, and internship opportunities were well delivered. I got a scholarship which accelerated my stay and study experience . The only thing that could have been better if continued the IM curriculum for Advaita Vedanta under the School of VKS. placement: 10/10 college: 9/10 course: 9/10 hostel: 10/10 internship: 10/10 campus life: 9/10
