Chorlton Park is a happy and caring school where children are able to acquire the skills and knowledge to become confident and successful learners with high aspirations. Through excellent teaching, we ignite imaginations and make learning irresistible.

We work in partnership with parents/carers and the wider community to ensure the success of our children. We believe that children deserve the best possible chances in life and that they learn best when there are strong links between home and school.

Through our engaging curriculum, we ensure that children can foster a passion for learning and curiosity that will help to develop high aspirations and a lifetime of memories. Our children are encouraged to explore, discover and question through a range of exciting learning opportunities both within and outside the classroom. We believe in ensuring that children receive a well-rounded curriculum where individual interests and talents can be spotted and nurtured to ensure that all children experience success and reach their full potential.

At Chorlton Park Primary School we aim to provide a happy, stimulating and secure community for every child. This, in conjunction with a rich and challenging learning experience, will ensure that all children reach their full potential, both emotionally and physically, and are completely prepared to take their place in our diverse world.Everyone who works in our school is valued as an individual and staff work as a team, sharing expertise, knowledge and skills. Chorlton Park strongly values the partnership between home, school and community.

We provide both full and part-time nursery places for children who are aged three from 1st September to 31st August of the previous school year. Children cannot be admitted to our nursery until they are three. We aim to have all our children admitted to nursery by the end of September.

Children’s names need to be on the Nursery Waiting List by the end of March, the school year before they are due to start in Nursery. Parents and carers will receive a letter during April if their child has been offered a place.Parents and carers need to accept this place by the deadline on the letter. Once the place has been accepted transition programme will be organised for your child. This is run by the Nursery Team.

Manchester local authority is responsible for admissions of all reception places, including children already attending our Nursery. The local authority forms must be completed by parents on-line, or parents can request a paper form. This must be completed by the nominated date in December the year before your child is due to start Reception. A late application could result in your child not getting a place at the school of their choice. If your child joins us part way through their primary education our friendly staff will assist you with completing the paperwork and give you a tour of our school. You will also meet your child's new teacher prior to them starting and get all of the information you need to make their first day go as smoothly as possible.

We believe every experience children have contributes towards their outstanding achievements, including those funded by this grant. We use the grant to enrich children’s experience to help them become increasingly confident in all aspects of learning.

We are proud to say that we are a school that’s sharply focused on the future. We’re at the forefront of new developments in ways of teaching and using modern technology as a tool for learning. Our 21st Century approach isn’t about gigabytes and Google though. Chorlton Park is different because of the ways we use new technology and educational theory to make every child’s experience here as effective and enriching as possible.

Our personalised approach to learning encourages personal development and promotes high standards while keeping our curriculum broad and exciting. What we’re aiming for is children who can use and apply their essential literacy, numeracy and ICT skills confidently in the classroom and in everyday life.

Chorlton Park aims to be a school where children's rights are at the very heart of our ethos and culture, to improve-well being and to develop every child's talents and abilities to their full potential. As part of this plan we are working towards recognition as a "Rights Respecting School", an award given to schools on behalf of Unicef UK.

Unicef is the world's leading organisation working for children and young people and their rights. In 1989, governments across the world agreed that all children have the same rights by adopting the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child (UNCRC). These rights are based on what a child needs to survive, grow, participate and fulfill their potential.Chorlton Park pupils will learn about their rights by putting them into practice every day. A Rights Respecting School models rights and repect in all its relationships.

The Pupil Premium funding that is received by the school annually is used in a variety of ways in order to improve pupil attainment and to help overcome any barriers to learning. We have utilised strategies from ‘Narrowing the Gap’ and the Sutton Trust EEF toolkit, which has been researched and analysed extensively, to inform us of the best ways to use this money.

From September 2013 all primary schools across England have received a share of the Primary Physical Education and Sport Premium. The funding is ring-fenced and must be spent on improving the provision and quality of PE and sport in primary schools so that pupils develop healthy lifestyles.
