Christ King College

Christ King College, with a history of over 80 years is presently managed by the Dominican Sisters of St. Catherine of Siena, Philippines. The school sheds light to the world in the spheres of educating and moulding character of both girls and boys in and around Pannipitiya. Besides academic pursuits, students are trained in co-curricular activities such as sports, fine arts and in other relevant fields to build up personality. We are proud to mention that we have produced distinguished personalities in the past. We look forward to render the same service to society in the future.

Christ King College, Pannipitiya, started functioning in October 1930 as a parish school under the management of Rev. Fr. Zachrius Dabrera, O.M.I., a missionary of the Archdiocese of Colombo; during his tenure of office as the Parish Priest of Kotte. The school was established in a region that was considered remote and rural for the sake of the less privileged children, far away from the city of Colombo.His Eminence Dr. Thomas Cardinal Cooray constructed several buildings and expanded facilities as a secondary school. He also obtained the services of the Apostolic Carmel Sisters for the school.

The college came under the able administration of the Dominican Sisters of St. Catherine of Siena, Philippines in 1974. Thereafter the indefatigable Rev. Sr. Pauline Perera, O.P steered the school. New leadership paved the way to reach great heights, to its present position as an educational institute in the region. The college at present led with much courage and confidence by Rev. Sr. Priyantha Fernando,O.P. under her unassuming yet firm and far sighted directions.
