These scholarships of approximately $5000, payable in the winter session, are awarded to Indigenous students include First Nation (Status, Non-Status), Inuit and Metis studying in any of the undergraduate or graduate professional health programs. The scholarships are awarded on the basis of financial need, academic merit and demonstrated community leadership skills.

How to Apply:
Submit your application form:

  • Complete the U of T Student Award Application Form
  • Attach two letters of reference from individuals in the community or academic life who can attest to your community involvement and leadership ability
  • Email the completed form (in PDF format) and supporting documentations as an email attachments to Enrolment Services (awards.uoft@utoronto.ca)

Notification of decision:

  • Award recipients will receive an award letter by email from Enrolment Services, usually a month or two months after the application deadline.
  • The award letter will include information on the award payment and should be kept for future reference.

Eligibility

Recipients must:

  • be Indigenous/First Nations (Status, Non-Status), Metis and Inuit students who are studying in any of the undergraduate or graduate health-related professional programs;
  • be Canadian citizen/permanent resident and resident of Ontario;
  • have financial need
  • demonstrate academic merit and
  • demonstrated community leadership skills.
