Job Summary
The University of Cape Town invites applications for the above permanent 5/8ths position in the Division of Physiotherapy in the Department of Health and Rehabilitation Sciences, which is available with immediate effect. The successful candidate will be expected to assist with clinical training and education of undergraduate students in the area of neuromusculoskeletal conditions.
Responsibilities
- Clinical supervision of undergraduate students at neuromusculoskeletal (NMS) clinical placements;
- Development of clinical sites for optimal student learning, and inter-disciplinary collaboration;
- Scholarship to encourage evidence-based practice;
- Development of appropriate clinical teaching material;
- Administrative and management duties at divisional and departmental levels;
- Clinical service responsibilities to maintain and develop practice learning sites;
Requirements
- Qualified Physiotherapist with a relevant Bachelor’s degree;
- Minimum of 3 years working experience in clinical practice;
- Demonstrable clinical working experience in the field of neuromusculoskeletal conditions;
- Excellent interpersonal abilities
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Advantages

- Demonstrable experience in student clinical supervision
- Demonstrable experience in student education/supervision at an institution of higher learning.
- The applicant must be registered as a Physiotherapist with the Health Professions Council of South Africa.
