What you'll receive
You'll receive:

• A scholarship valued at $36,000 paid in semester instalments over three years, to spend on HECS-HELP, university fees, textbooks and living expenses
• Two 15-week internships with one or more of our corporate partners.

Instalments of $6,000 per semester are paid after HECS-HELP Census date upon satisfaction of contract conditions.

Other benefits may include:

• The opportunity to represent QUT Business School in international case competitions

How to Apply
This is a separate online application form to the one used to apply for a QUT Excellence Scholarship. If you have any questions, contact our Scholarships Coordinator.

Step 1: Apply for your course:
The CPIE program aligns with the BS05 Bachelor of Business degree and most double degrees with a business component (see exceptions above).

Lodge your QTAC application and include an eligible QUT Bachelor of Business single or double degree as one of your top 3 preferences.

We encourage you to rank courses on your QTAC application in the order of your preference. However, to receive the scholarship you must accept an offer to study the Bachelor of Business single degree (BS05) or an eligible double degree in business. If you're offered a scholarship and you do not have a program-eligible degree at QUT as your highest QTAC preference, we'll give you the option to re-order your preferences to align your course choice to the scholarship program (strict timeframes apply).

Step 2: Apply for the scholarship:
To submit a scholarship application, you need to include:

• Your QTAC ID number
• Copies of your Year 11 (Semester 1 and 2) and Year 12 (Semester 1) results
• Letters of support from two referees (school, work or personal)
• Written responses to four questions, explained in the application form.

You can save your application and come back to it later. Complete and submit an application for the scholarship by 11.59pm on the closing date.

The system will not allow late applications. We don't accept late applications by email under any circumstances.

What happens next?
When you submit your application you'll receive a confirmation email.

Proposed 2020 application process timeline
Tuesday 17 November, 2020: Video assessment opens at 9am. This is Stage 2 of the selection process. All applicants are added to the SONRU tool using their nominated email address and have 3 days to complete it. Check your email for instructions.

• Thursday 19 November, 2020: Video assessment closes at 11.59pm.
• Friday 27 November, 2020: Shortlisting by the selection panel is finalised, using your written application and video submissions.
• Tuesday 1 December, 2020: We'll contact you by this date if you have been shortlisted for first-round interviews.
• Wednesday 9 December -Thursday 10 December, 2020: First-round interviews are scheduled for these two days. Shortlisted applicants must be available for an interview with the selection panel.
• Our Scholarships Coordinator will phone you to arrange the interview and confirm the details in writing. ZOOM interviews are likely to be offered as standard practice, pending government restrictions relating to COVID-19 at that time.
• Monday 14 December, 2020: If second-round interviews are required, the next highest-ranked applicants in the discipline being recruited will be contacted by phone no later than this date. Interview times will then be negotiated.
• 21 December, 2020: We'll make first-round offers for scholarships after the release of ATARs. We'll let you know by telephone if your application is successful. If it is, we'll send you a letter with confirmation and details about what to do next. Shortlisted applicants who are unsuccessful at interview will be notified by email. Applicants who are not shortlisted or interviewed will not be contacted.

If you aren't successful in your application, there is no appeals process.

International Baccalaureate (IB) students
If you've completed an International Baccalaureate (IB), your application will be included in the selection timeline. We'll provide an amended timeline if it's applicable to your discipline cohort.

Conditions
To keep your scholarship you must:

• Remain enrolled full time in a program-eligible Bachelor of Business single or double degree at QUT
• Maintain a minimum grade point average (GPA) of 5.5 and passes in all units
• Be prepared to overload your study plan to accommodate the internship semesters
• Be willing to undertake two full-time internships with a QUT Business School corporate sponsor in Semester 1 of your second and third years of the degree.

Please note: We recommend double degree students overload the business units in their study plan (enrolling in 3 units instead of 2) during the first 4 non-internship semesters. This facilitates progression for the non-business degree and will result in completion of the double degree within the standard timeframe. Please discuss with the Business School's Director of Studies if you want to deviate from the standard double degree progression, which would result in a time extension for your degrees.

You can’t:

• Defer your scholarship offer or course. You can reapply for the scholarship the following year provided you haven't undertaken university study in the meantime
• Change degree without prior discussion with the Director of Studies
• Hold any other academic scholarship. Equity Scholarships are allowed.
