Our school is located in a modern, centrally located building and it is equipped with: a new science lab, an up-to-date library, two computer laboratories, a lunch cafeteria, online class register, lockers for students. All the classrooms have interactive multimedia boards or access to overhead projectors. We are particularly proud of our new MYP Junior Science Lab, fully operational since September 2013.The new lab is designed for maximum student participation. It has two central work-stations and two additional 3-metre work-tops, allowing science staff to set up different areas of study with a much bigger variety of student-centred experiments.

This environment will facilitate “learning by doing”. DIS has (in collaboration with “Duchessa di Galliera”) Physics, Biology and Chemistry laboratories, gyms and an auditorium. Upon request, a bus service is available for MYP1- 2-3 grade students.

Deledda International School offered a unique and distinct curriculum, tailored to prepare students for future studies through the rigorous IB program while developing their sense of ethics and social responsibility. The school emphasized critical thinking and reasoning skills, language abilities and critical analysis of our historical and social context. The formative experience extended beyond the classroom environment into the local community, via volunteering and arts projects, and into the international stage, for example through the Genoa Model United Nations project.

Our Primary School was established to familiarize our students with IB methodology, which is applied in the rest of our school courses. It combines the syllabus of the Italian school system and an enhanced learning of the English language, necessaryto continueone’s studies at DIS.

Our teaching approach is based on a transdisciplinary curriculum that places students at the core of the learning process, enabling them to carry out proactive learning and to develop a passion for the study of the different subjects.

Activities are developed through cooperative learning and take into account each student’s competences and areas of interest.
