Driver / Courier / Messenger

Job Summary

The primary goal of the Driver/Courier/Messenger is to pick up and transport packages, documents, messages, employees from point A to point B using a motor vehicle. They provide support with limited or no guidance in performing the following duties:

• Building key management – they sort keys and maintain key cupboards and issue keys, maintaining updated records thereof.
• These individuals take keys to the locksmith for duplication and ensure the collection thereof.Manage mail – they receive incoming couriers and post and ensure delivery to the mailroom, sorting them according to the respective buildings and companies. They ensure that the mailroom goods received records are maintained and up to date and ensure the housekeeping of the mailroom.
• Deliveries and collection – the Driver/Courier/Messenger plans an efficient route to make deliveries and collections, updating the vehicle log book on a daily basis for accurate recording of mileage. They keep records of the items to be delivered and received.
• Vehicle inspection – these individuals perform a daily safety check of the vehicle to ensure its roadworthiness and report the periodic servicing needs of the vehicle in advance. They ensure that the vehicle is cleat at all times and ensure the safekeeping of vehicle accessories, e.g. jack, spare wheel, etc.

These individuals display a good service orientated aptitude and are proactive and self-driven. They demonstrate a friendly demeanour and the ability to communicate well verbally and in writing. They are presentable and maintain a professional image at all times.

Required Work Experience

• 1 – 2 years’ working experience,
• At least 1 year working experience in a related environment
