Parents, students and educators have been urged to rely on official government sources for accurate updates and to avoid circulating unverified information
Private educational institutions across Dubai will switch to distance learning until Wednesday, March 4, as a precautionary measure “in light of ongoing regional developments”.
In a statement posted on X, Dubai’s education regulator KHDA said the move was being implemented to ensure the continued safety and wellbeing of students, teachers and the wider education community.
“All private educational institutions in Dubai will implement distance learning until Wednesday, March 4, as a precautionary measure,” the statement read.
Officials stressed that the safety and wellbeing of the education community remain the highest priority.
Parents, students and educators have been urged to rely on official government sources for accurate updates and to avoid circulating unverified information.
No further changes were announced, and authorities said updates would be communicated through official channels as needed.
Earlier, the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research announced that all public and private schools and universities nationwide would shift to distance learning from Monday, March 2, to Wednesday, March 4, 2026, covering students as well as teaching and administrative staff.
The UAE has the infrastructure in place to transition seamlessly to remote learning when required, a system that was successfully deployed during the Covid-19 pandemic. Distance learning also continues to be activated during weather-related emergencies, as and when directed by authorities, ensuring minimal disruption to the academic calendar while prioritising student safety.
