We were very glad to be designated as a National Teaching School in 2016 as it recognises the effort that the school team puts in to making lessons enjoyable and effective for our young people. Equally, the visit of OFSTED in October 2014 which judged Dunraven as 'outstanding' in every category was an important public marker of our on-going journey to achieve 'Excellence for All'.

We're delighted to have played a part in the school’s success but such recognition is the result of the hard work of our staff and students – supported by their families – over time. Our next challenge is to ensure that Dunraven maintains these high standards as we aim to become an ‘astounding’ school, working with others as we deliver excellence from Reception all the way through to Year 13.

Dunraven is a 4-18, All Through School. In September 2019, we will have the first Year 6 cohort in our Primary phase, completing our journey as an All Through school. This structure offers our children - and their families - a unique educational opportunity as well as the chance for the school to create an exciting and enriched learning experience for all its students. Our primary team are very excited to be working with our children and look forward to seeing them develop and grow as learners. In our Secondary phase, we will continue to work hard to ensure that we build successfully on those excellent foundations all the way to A level and the life beyond school.

We are clear about the significant responsibility that comes with being the founding school of the Dunraven Educational Trust. We share the Trust’s ambition to ’Share Excellence’ across all of our schools to give the children in our community the best possible preparation for adulthood. If you come to visit the school, we will offer you a warm welcome and aim to let you see for yourself why we're so proud of our school.

Our Code of Conduct has one main expectation: that you treat everyone with courtesy and consideration at all times. The quality of relationships in our school underpins all that we do. Put simply, our ethos is ‘work hard, be nice’. We believe that such qualities are essential for a successful, productive and happy life now and in the future. Our school has a very strong track record in helping young people develop such qualities and they underpin our belief that the key role of our school - together with families and the wider community - is to support the development of well-rounded young adults.

We believe in the importance of a well-rounded education as a central part of the development of that well-rounded person. An education which is inclusive and provides all our students with an equal chance of becoming successful. To achieve this, our curriculum is broad and balanced: our young people will have access to an education that responds to their needs and recognises their interests. We want all our learners to make excellent progress and gain strong outcomes as a result of their study.
