The Falcon Eco School Warriors were delighted to receive the coveted Eco Schools Green Flag.
The eco schools team spent the last two years ensuring they were plastic free, changing the classrooms into areas of natural wood, reeds, cloth, ceramic, metal and glass.
The team focussed on reducing water and energy use as well as monitoring waste. The team ensured everyone followed the eco schools 4 Rs. Staff members each received a reusable vege bag to use for their own vegetables (instead of plastic veg bags) and parents and staff members were encouraged to reduce their carbon footprint.
The award was given on 11 November 2019 making it the first Eco Schools nursery in Abu Dhabi.
The school is now able to proudly fly the Green Flag. Falcon believes that a sustainable UAE is every child’s right.
