The Academy is passionate about guiding pupils to explore their natural talents and fulfil their potential, and staff believe that every young person – regardless of their prior achievement and background – is capable of making outstanding progress academically and personally. Each pupil is celebrated, valued and recognised for their individual contributions to the Academy community, and our staff work hard to ensure that all of our pupils are inspired to become the best young person they can be.

We want our pupils to become confident, well-rounded individuals, with real leadership potential and a strong academic and moral foundation. With the support of our staff, governors, parents and the local community, our aim is to create an aspirational educational environment where our pupils achieve exceptional outcomes and feel safe, happy and well.

Through our leadership specialism – and a wealth of enriching opportunities and experiences designed to promote educational excellence, character development, and service to communities – we nurture, inspire and support our pupils to become the leaders of tomorrow. We want all of our pupils to develop the drive to succeed, alongside a genuine commitment to helping others, and by teaching pupils the importance of being kind, compassionate and respectful, the Academy encourages them to develop a keen sense of right and wrong and the willingness to make a positive impact in their local community and beyond. Pupils also learn how to initiate and maintain positive relationships, work as part of a team, and communicate respectfully with everyone they know.

The Academy’s curriculum is broad and balanced, with an emphasis on high expectations and model behaviour within the context of a vibrant and engaging learning environment. Staff are passionate about instilling the desire to learn and the ambition to achieve within all pupils, and believe strongly in positive reinforcement and rewarding pupils for exemplifying the Academy’s STAR values of Service, Teamwork, Ambition and Respect. We have devised innovative and successful teaching techniques in order to capture and sustain pupils’ interest and, by creating a values-based environment that promotes and rewards hard work, pupils are encouraged to always do their best.

Eden Boys’ Leadership Academy, Manchester is part of a family of academies within Tauheedul Education Trust. Our teachers and associate staff are experienced, well-qualified professionals and pupils’ welfare is always their main priority.

The Academy is committed to positive progress and, through successful collaboration with all our stakeholders within and outside the Trust, we work together to ensure that all of our pupils are able to shine.The Academy is part of the Tauheedul Education Trust. As an 11-18 progressive and inclusive Muslim faith Academy, the Governing Body will consider all applications equally without reference to faith.

Our curriculum is designed to foster thought, curiosity and a desire for learning in all pupils, regardless of their backgrounds, strengths and needs. It should be a gateway to opportunity and to a fulfilling and prosperous life in modern Britain and beyond.Our curriculum is broad and balanced, with an emphasis on academic success. We prioritise learning in Literacy, Numeracy, Languages, Humanities and Science. Our curriculum is both coherent and cumulative, with an emphasis on the critical importance of knowledge acquisition.

Leadership development, exam results and university preparation are at the heart of the sixth form experience in all Tauheedul schools.By combining a focus on high levels of academic achievement, with ethical, sustainable living, community service and charitable giving, Tauheedul schools ensure that all sixth form pupils leave with the best possible foundations for their future lives as high achieving, active citizens.

Learning at home is an essential part of a good education. The classroom is not the only environment where successful learning can take place. The regular setting of appropriate, thoughtful, challenging and differentiated homework contributes to pupils’ overall learning experience and is essential for an individual pupil to reach their potential.

Every pupil is encouraged to set their sights high for their future, regardless of their background or individual circumstances. In order to help them prepare for college, university and the world of employment, we deliver careers guidance through a range of processes designed to develop high aspirations in pupils, encourage pupils to consider a broad and ambitious range of careers and enable individuals to make informed choices and transitions related to their personal, educational and careers development. We also draw on specialist support from local partner organisations.

We know that for each pupil to achieve success, the Academy must create a culture of aspiration and self-belief, supported by a state of the art Academy development system.We have rigorous target setting and performance management systems for all of our activities. These are kept under constant review by the Senior Leadership Team, Governing Body and Trust.

Each pupil has a personalised learning plan designed to challenge and support them. Progress, behaviour and attendance are monitored carefully and early action is taken in any areas where a pupil’s progress is causing concern.

Parents also have an important role to play in ensuring their child achieves their potential. They receive half-termly report cards and we hold Performance Review Meetings with parents for those pupils who are not making expected progress. The sessions set challenging, but realistic, targets for the pupils.
