As a private, inclusive, Catholic school in the Sinsinawa Dominican educational tradition, we provide a college preparatory curriculum steeped in faith and values, and co-curricular activities to satisfy every student's interests. We aspire to provide an exceptional high school experience in an inclusive community where every student is inspired to study, reflect, and take action in pursuit of a purposeful life.
Edgewood, a Catholic high school, educates the whole student for a life of learning, service, and personal responsibility through a rigorous academic curriculum that embraces the Sinsinawa Dominican values of Truth, Compassion, Justice, Community and Partnership. Edgewood High School is sponsored by the Dominican Sisters of Sinsinawa, Wisconsin. Founded in 1847 by the Venerable Father Samuel Mazzuchelli OP, the Congregation sponsors 11 institutions. Through sponsorship, the Sinsinawa Dominicans carry out their mission to preach and teach.
Edgewood High School offers a college-preparatory program with both Advanced Placement and Honors courses, as well as assistance for those struggling in particular subjects. Our curriculum includes required and elective courses in art, aviation, business, computers, English, French, history, Latin, mathematics, music, Spanish, public speaking/communications, physical education, religious studies, science, and social studies.
A student’s high school years are about academic preparation, but they are also a time for teenagers to learn more about themselves, to explore interests, to develop social skills and to gain in self-confidence. Students acquire positive values and attitudes that they will take with them into their adult life.
Co-curricular activities are an integral and valuable part of a student's high school experience, and Edgewood High School is committed to sponsoring a wide variety of such activities. We are proud to say that more than 95 percent of our students participate in at least one club, activity, or sport and most participate in more.
While difficult to measure, the educational value of co-curricular participation is extensive. Numerous studies have shown that students who are actively engaged in sports, fine arts, or clubs and organizations are also more likely to have heightened performance in the classroom.
Spiritual study and reflection, retreats, liturgies and prayer services are another aspect of campus life at Edgewood. Every student also must complete a minimum of 100 hours of service before graduation. Both components of the Edgewood experience are meant to create awareness and appreciation of the beliefs, traditions, life experiences and circumstances of the range of people who live in our community.

Edgewood High School of the Sacred Heart has been an amazing educational institution for my child in Madison. The staff is incredibly helpful and dedicated to providing high-quality education. My child has made significant progress in their studies, and I couldn't be happier with their experience at Edgewood.
