Edogawa University is committed to carefully-crafted education for the individual success of each student through consistently small number class size.

Although we stated we are committed to carefully-crafted education, we are also aiming at practical education that solves everyday problems such as sleep and anxiety, co-existence with nature, nature conservation, cultural heritage protection, town revitalization, establishing new business development in contrast to heavy industry, child care issues, and computerization and internationalization.

The ability to gather information and make a judgment on it is an indispensable skill in today’s information society and is necessary to discover proposals in response to the problems that surround us.As a result, we lend computers to all students with the aim of increasing their technology processing and application skills.
It is well known that we are in a modern time where globalization is unstoppable.In this modern world, English is becoming the official language.Therefore, students also must improve their English language skills.The university has operated a 3-week training program in New Zealand since its foundation. First, the students become accustomed to English, and on their return to Japan, the university strives to help them continue improving their language skills.Also, the University is committed to encouraging students to actively participate in English proficiency exams such as TOEIC and offers thorough individual instruction for students requesting it.

As a community-based university, we established a nursery school near the university and helped solve child care problems in Nagareyama City.The university library is also open to the local public as a cultural center.The university also actively utilizes the expertise of its faculty by holding public lectures.

Educational philosophy Edogawa University's educational philosophy is "Human Cultivation." In other words, we strive to who can contribute to society through comprehensive education filled with human kindness and the specialized knowledge required by the era.

Our mission and objectives are determined by Article 1 of our School Regulations: "In accordance with the principles of the Fundamental Law of Education and the School Education Act, we offer instruction across a broad range of knowledge based on the spirit of the school's foundation (educational philosophy). By doing so, we aim to oster capable young men and women with abundant human qualities and the ability to master the ideologies and philosophies of the specialized fields of sociology and psychology and actually put them into practice. "

Each student is lent a laptop computer. Students are able to connect to the internet both inside and outside buildings on the University grounds, allowing students to obtain information and study wherever they choose.

• Students learn theory in the classroom and study practical application through seminars and practicals. In this way, they obtain useful skills while maintaining a proper sense of perspective.
• Support is given to allow students to obtain qualifications, including a teacher-training course and subjects offering other qualifications.
