Job Summary
Responsibilities
- Planning and delivering lessons that cover English language skills (e.g. reading, writing, speaking, listening, grammar, vocabulary) to non-native speakers.
- Assessing students’ language proficiency and providing feedback on their progress.
- Creating a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages learning and participation.
- Developing and using materials and resources (e.g. textbooks, online tools, multimedia) to support language learning.
- Working with other teachers and staff to coordinate curriculum and activities.
- Communicating with students, parents, and other stakeholders about student progress and program outcomes.
Requirements
- A bachelor’s degree, preferably in education or a related field.
- A TEFL (Teaching English as a Foreign Language) certificate, or equivalent.
- Experience teaching English to non-native speakers, preferably in an international context.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, particularly with people from different cultural backgrounds.
- Flexibility and adaptability to changing classroom and student needs.
- Familiarity with technology and its application in language teaching.
Overall, an EFL teacher’s job is to facilitate language learning and help students become confident and competent communicators in English.
