Emmaus Christian School

Emmaus Christian School Canberra is a co-ed P-10 School in the leafy suburb of Dickson in North Canberra. At Emmaus we provide a high quality Christian education and are committed to providing a balanced program of spiritual, emotional, physical and academic nurturing to all its students. We have passionate teachers, caring administrative staff, enthusiastic students, and a fantastic parent community who all work together to make this a wonderful and safe place of belonging.

The gospel of Jesus Christ is not an add-on to the education and nurture that we provide; it is integrated and embedded in all that we do. Whilst many schools have Christian origins and values, at Emmaus we believe that the gospel is at the heart of the curriculum and central to all teaching and learning.

​The Christian view of the world that we operate from is one based on biblical truths and recognition that Jesus is Lord and King over all of life. We furthermore believe that Christian education at Emmaus is not a ‘fee-for-service’ or a transaction but an engaging partnership between home and school. It is therefore essential that parents subscribe to and agree with the ethos of the School. As all families today face challenges, Emmaus wishes to come alongside our families and support, affirm and magnify all that determines a gospel-shaped community.

Christian education at Emmaus includes an open and transparent challenge for all staff and students to reach their goals and so bring glory to our living God. Staff at our school take seriously their duty to provide a high-quality teaching and learning program; one that is seasoned and balanced with a warm and engaging pastoral care program. The consistent high standards of academic results and family-like school culture are evidence of the care and commitment of staff.

Emmaus exists to partner with parents, in providing a Christ-centred, Biblically-grounded and academically-rigorous education, which enables students to grow in wisdom and character, to the glory of God.
