Engineer - Civil Structures (Utilities)

Job Summary

Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Civil/Structural Engineer – Civil Structures (Utilities) to join our team! In this role you will get to contribute to delivery of a wide variety of public and private projects across Dubai and the Northern Emirates.

What You’ll Be Doing:

• Design: Preparing structural designs for a variety of civil structures such as pumping stations, chambers, culverts, substations & switchrooms, guardhouses and other ancillary structures.
• Production: of standard engineering computations, material quantity takeoffs, estimate, surveys and designs.
• Collaboration: working closely with your team and with other discipline engineers to ensure alignment of cross-disciplinary designs.
• Quality Assurance: compliance with company QA/QC procedures including maintaining clear records of design development.
• BIM Proficiency: utilize Building Information Modeling (BIM) methodologies and tools (eg. Revit) to enhance design co-ordination and accuracy in production of design/construction drawings,

What Required Skills You’ll Bring:

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Civil / Structural Engineering
• Experience: A minimum of 3 years of civil/structural design experience.
• Technical Proficiency: expertise in structural design software including AutoCAD, Revit, Navisworks, ACC or similar application. Familiarity with applicable Structural Design codes.
• Communication Skills: Good verbal and written communication skills in English
• Analytical Mindset: Strong problem-solving skills, with a creative approach to overcoming design challenges and implementing effective solutions.
• Attention to Detail: Meticulous attention to detail, coupled with a commitment to delivering high-quality results under tight deadlines.

What Desired Skills You’ll Bring:

• Experience: previous work in Dubai and/or elsewhere in the UAE is an advantage.
• Technical proficiency: familiarity with the Dubai Building Code and other local standards (Dubai Municipality, RTA, Civil Defense, DEWA, etc) is an advantage
• Communication: proficiency in Arabic is an advantage, but not essential.
