Job Summary

The training coordinator role is responsible for developing and supporting the execution of training philosophy (as per contractual requirements) to deliver the classroom, on-the-job (OJT), and operator training simulator (OTS) training. The deliverables include multiple internal and external interfaces and communication of regular reports on the participant’s assessment, progress, and resolution of the issues to maintain the quality and effectiveness of the training program.

Organization
The training coordinator reports to the ORA-CSU Manager for his function and administration.

The training coordinator works closely with the project team, including operation, commissioning, technical writers, maintenance, and engineering, to get their timely feedback and reviews. He also ensures that the respective training philosophy, execution plan, schedules, and detailed execution complies with the project’s specific contractual requirements.

The job holder has no direct communication role with Clients unless approved by the line manager or
required by emergency procedures.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Review the contractual documents and accurately interpret the project training scope for compliance.
  • Thoroughly reviews and understands engineering and vendor documentation as per MDR/VDR.
  • Identifies and shares the reviews of the supporting documentation and highlights missing or incorrect information for the quality and effectiveness of the training.
  • Prepares training philosophies, Execution plans, Schedules, classroom participants’ lists and presents them for internal and external alignment and approvals.
  • Understands the essential components and contents of each type of training, including but not limited to classroom training, on-the-job training, operator training simulator (OTS), and follows the critical requirement into the essential execution and compliance.
  • Configures, prepares, and executes a rigorous assessment program for the training to track individual participant progress and improvement areas in subsequent training sessions.
  • Coordinates with technical writers and technical reviewers to develop fit-for-purpose training documentation.
  • Coordinates with Technical Trainers for the conduct of the training program as per the training material and contents of the training.
  • Coordinates with Trainees and ensures that necessary training and preparatory materials are provided in time.
  • Coordinates with the client team to confirm the participants and ensures that all communication and confirmations are followed and necessary absences and short attendances are marked and reported to the client team.
  • Coordinates with the necessary administration team and ensures that classrooms and job site are available with essential accessories and equipment as a training aid.
  • Tracks the training execution plan and schedule as per actuals and prepares necessary updates and replans for participants’ progress and attendance.
  • Has strong peoples skills to resolve stakeholder problems, complaints, or grievances.

QHSE Duty of Care

  • Implement the QHSE policy elements to all daily operations activities – Office/ ON Site.
  • Report Near miss Incidents and accidents occurring in their locations – Office / ON Site.

Selection Criteria

  • Engineering (preferable)/ Technical diploma in Process, Mechanical, and E&I or equivalent.
  • Minimum 15+ years of experience in oil and gas industry. The practical experience in commissioning and operating the oil and gas processing or refining facilities is a must.
  • 5 years experience as training coordinator or technical writer for similar and bigger projects.
  • Preference would be given to experience with respective Clients.
  • Have proven skills for working in teams, collaboration, and achieving excellence.
  • Experienced in working in Teams and expert in conflict resolution.
  • Good troubleshooting skills, problem solver and information analyser.
  • Advanced knowledge of English both written and spoken.
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Advanced user of Writing and Proofreading tools including Microsoft Office, PDF Writer, Visio.

Physical Strain

  • Must work under pressure and achieve tight deadlines/targets.
  • Must work in remote areas for an extended period, with much travel to and from the work sites.
  • Living a healthy lifestyle and maintaining regular exercise.
