Eveline Day School is a unique independent preparatory school in Wandsworth catering for children from 3 to 11 years old. We are the perfect school for working parents and we welcome international families and those whose first language is other than English.

Our school offers small class sizes of 12-15 students with excellent staff/ student ratios. We believe that learning is a joyful and rewarding experience and we encourage our students to aspire to high academic standard and achievement, whilst supporting those children who may find learning more challenging. We believe that every child can be the best they can be at Eveline Day School.

The students have a wealth of learning opportunities through a broad and balanced curriculum including residential trips from the age of seven, which help the children to develop independence and make decisions. The school is renowned for its creativity in music and drama and we believe that these skills build on self-esteem and confidence. Sport and high quality nutrition are an integral part of our school day. The school has an extended day and the children benefit from many extra-curricular activities.

We follow the National Curriculum, taking the Statutory Assessment Task (SATS) at 7 and 11 years old. We also prepare our students for entrance exams to local and selective secondary schools. We have had successful entrants and gained scholarships to many top secondary schools including: Kings College, Dulwich College, Wimbledon High, Emanuel, James Allen Prep School, Alleyns and Graveney.

Daily sports are encouraged; this includes morning training sessions, leadership skills, running and Brain Gym, football/netball, weekly PE and swimming lessons. We have a range of extra-curricular activities, including martial arts and yoga.

The safety, spiritual, moral, social and cultural development of the children is paramount to our ethos and the children use their initiative, take responsibility for their actions and make decisions about their own futures. Our school is inclusive and diverse, “There is a tangible sense of racial harmony.” Ofsted.

Our vision is to develop a love of learning and an enthusiasm for life to nurture inquiring minds. Children of all social, cultural and religious backgrounds are equally respected and given the opportunity to achieve academic excellence.

Our aim is to provide the children with a challenging learning environment which is safe and stimulating. All of our students are valued and and respected. We aim to guide the children to achieve their full potential and celebrate individual development and knowledge. We work as a team, engaging staff, children and parents to provide a creative and child centred curriculum.

Each child has their own unique talents and our aim as educators is to develop the whole child and help to prepare them for their next educational developmental stage. During their time at this school, the children develop a strong sense of self-belief and they have noticeably high levels of confidence and positive self esteem. We encourage the children to be highly motivated and independent as well as being caring and co-operative. We encourage all students to gain responsibility in decision making and to contribute their skills as leaders and role models.

The Eveline Day School follows the National Curriculum for all subjects and uses the new Primary Frameworks for Literacy, Numeracy and Science. Our teaching and learning at School are both of a high standard and our pupils enjoy challenging and exciting activities.

Classes are also provided for EAAL (English As A Foreign Language) students. Specialised teachers offer both individual and group focus.

At The Eveline Day School each child’s needs are of paramount importance. Our special needs policy is in line with the Department for Education and Skills SEN code of practice. We have weekly visits from an Educational Consultant Psychologist who is on hand to work with individual children and advise staff on any special programmes needed to meet a particular child’s needs and offer support to parents. A moderator oversees and guides our testing methods. Students are continually assessed throughout the year to track their progress.
