Faculty Position in Comparative Politics

Job Summary

John Cabot University, an accredited American liberal arts university in Rome, Italy, offering four-year degree programs, invites applications for an open-rank (assistant or associate) full-time tenure-track faculty position in Comparative Politics. The initial appointment is for two years with the possibility of tenure. Candidates are expected to be fluent in English, which is the language of instruction. We seek candidates with a Ph.D. in Political Science, demonstrated excellence in teaching and research, and commitment to academic service and program development. The ideal candidate should have familiarity and experience with the American liberal arts educational tradition.

All candidates with a strong grounding in comparative politics are welcome to apply. Special consideration will be given to candidates with expertise in teaching advanced research methodology; elections, public opinion and voting behavior; environmental politics; and gender studies. There is no regional specialization for the position, but a focus on Africa, Latin America or Europe would also be welcome. The successful candidate will be expected to teach introductory and advanced undergraduate level courses with a load of three courses per semester as well as be an active member of the university community. Ability to teach graduate level courses is an asset.
