John Cabot University, an accredited American liberal arts university in Rome, Italy, offering four-year degree programs, invites applications for an open-rank (assistant or associate) full-time tenure-track faculty position in International Relations. The initial appointment is for two years with the possibility of tenure. Candidates are expected to be fluent in English, which is the language of instruction.
Preference will be given to candidates with a second field in American or Comparative Politics. We seek applicants with a Ph.D. in Political Science, demonstrated excellence in teaching and research, and commitment to academic service and program development.
Special consideration will be given to candidates with expertise in international political economy, international development, public policy or international security (including non-traditional security areas such as food security, cyber security or the environment). Teaching experience with quantitative research methodology would be welcome. The successful candidate will be expected to teach introductory and advanced undergraduate level courses with a load of three courses per semester as well as be an active member of the university community. The ideal candidate should have familiarity and experience with the American liberal arts educational tradition. Ability to teach graduate level courses is an asset.
