We continue to focus on ensuring we deliver high quality learning which is engaging and enjoyable for all our students. We continue to achieve record breaking GCSE results and we are regularly placed in the top 10% of schools in the country for the academic progress students make.

Our A Level results and progression on to top universities have proved beyond question that our outstanding provision is also firmly embedded within our Sixth Form. Nearly all students choose to return into the Sixth Form which is housed in a state of the art £10m building. We have a proud track record of success in supporting students to progress on to excellent universities and Medical Schools and our university progression stats are well above national averages.

It won’t take you long to appreciate that Featherstone High School is a warm and hardworking community striving for excellence in all we do. We want children to leave school having maximised their academic progress but also with fond memories. Whatever the criteria – academic, social and personal, or sporting, this is an exceptional school.

Featherstone High School will continue to go from strength to strength, with a committed staff and excellent facilities set within a respectful community. Our students are here to learn and, make no mistake, we will have challenging expectations throughout their time with us. We are proud of our success and will ensure we do all we can to recognise and celebrate individual student achievements.

Our school motto “Together We Achieve” emphasises the importance of partnership in our success. We will ensure that parents are kept fully informed of our students’ progress and achievement in order to facilitate that crucial partnership.

Our school motto underpins our ethos of partnership in the pursuit of high achievement:

  • Together We Achieve

At FHS each individual will realise and achieve their full potential academically, personally and socially through a rich and varied curriculum, state of the art technology and outstanding teaching and learning. We will inspire all members of our community to become global ambassadors in our increasingly interconnected world.”

There are 4 key strategic areas we describe as our “strategic cornerstones” and we believe are key to our ongoing success. We focus on these each year in our school planning to ensure we continue to work towards our mission statement. All 4 areas are underpinned by our advanced and innovative use of New Technology.

  • Relentless focus on Teaching and Learning
  • A rich and varied curriculum
  • Strong code of behaviour
  • Rigorous tracking systems and associated intervention

We are a fully inclusive school focused on the needs of each individual; we want all our students to taste success and to be rewarded for that success. We are a caring community and foster the highest levels of empathy and respect for all members of our community. We require high standards of behaviour at all times as we know good behaviour is essential for effective learning to take place. We don’t accept any form of bullying, disruption to lessons or rudeness to other members of our community.

As part of our caring attitude, we strive for excellence in all areas and will challenge students appropriately if they don’t meet our high expectations, We are committed to the belief that parents are crucial partners and will keep you regularly informed of progress. It is our expectation that you will support us where there are difficulties and that you will also share in celebrating your son or daughter’s numerous successes during their time with us.

This is a really good school bexause of their ways of teaching children discipline, such as a 45 minute detention - something no student would ever want to go back to again. The teachers are also very good with theways that they teach the students.
