Job Summary
Ethical Culture Fieldston School is looking for qualified After School Instructors for our Fieldston Campus programs.

We currently offer the following programs within our After-school program: Model UN, Lego Robotics, Science Olympiad, Coding, Art, Sports, Lower School Assistants.
Do you have a niche, an expertise you would like to offer as a program for our Lower or Middle school students? We would love to hear about it!
The applicant will have knowledge of any area/expertise listed above and the ability to teach in a school setting. Prior teaching experience is strongly preferred.
This position is based on ECSF school calendar.
Responsibilities
- Create, plan and develop monthly parent engagement activities as appointed by site supervisor.
- Plan and submit lesson plans on a regular basis as required by site supervisor.
- Support youth development through academic, health and wellness, sports, or arts programming.
- Effectively develop a rapport with participants and parents, maintaining safety and confidentiality.
- Supervise participants during program hours, ensuring student safety and the development of positive relationships.
- Keep daily attendance records, attend regular supervision and participate in evaluation processes.
- Willingness to work extended hours when school is not in session (i.e. Winter Recess, Mid-Winter Recess, Spring Recess, etc.)
- Must adhere to agency, and site specific safety standards.
- Comply with city and departmental rules, regulations, policies and procedures.
- Maintain clean and safe work environment, notify supervisor of any hazardous issues.
- Participate in professional development, including a pre-program training the last week of August, in addition to various trainings throughout the year.
- Perform special projects and other related duties as assigned by supervisors.
- Must attend monthly staff meetings and project meetings.
Qualifications
- A Bachelor’s Degree in a related field.
- The instructor must have experience working with lower or middle school students.
- Some teaching experience strongly preferred.
- Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills.
- Working knowledge of MS Office and Google platform.
- Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills.
- Respect to diversity.
- Ability to inspire and motivate.
- Must be available to work Monday through Friday during program hours as per campus requirements.
- CPR/First Aid Certifications or the ability to obtain one.
- Flexible team player, with the ability, and willingness to work with adolescents, staff, and families.
- Ability to be a mentor and be a resource to students, staff, families and embrace/foster cultural inclusiveness.
- Inspired through creativity and able to bring these talents to the work site.

ECFS serves approximately 1,700 students and 325 faculty and staff in four divisions: Ethical Culture; Fieldston Lower; Fieldston Middle; and Fieldston Upper. Ethical Culture is located in midtown Manhattan, on Central Park West, in a six-story, turn-of-the-century school building; the other divisions share an 18-acre campus in the Riverdale section of the Bronx.
