The Forrest Research Foundation attracts outstanding minds to Western Australia to undertake high quality research with the potential to change the world.
The Foundation was established in 2014 following one of the largest ever philanthropic donations in Australian history, of $65million by Andrew and Nicola Forrest through the Minderoo Foundation. The donation is used to drive research and innovation capacity in Western Australia by awarding Forrest Scholarships to outstanding young intellects from around the world to conduct research at one of Western Australia’s five universities – The University of Western Australia, Murdoch University, Curtin University, Edith Cowan University and University of Notre Dame.
The Governors have agreed to support a number of international visiting fellowships throughout 2020.
Visiting Fellows will be established academics with international research reputations who already have some research links with colleagues in WA, and who wish to strengthen and deepen those links by spending up to four weeks in Perth, residing in Forrest Hall. Both the visiting fellowships and the academic workshops will be organised jointly with one or more of the WA universities, and will be aligned with the research priorities of the universities.
The Forrest Research Foundation is on the lands of the Whadjuk Noongar peoples. We pay our respects to their Elders past, present and future.
