Established in 1962, the French School of Kuala Lumpur (LFKL) is a not for profit and parents governed school, welcoming 630 students from 47 different countries, from kindergarten to high school.

The school provides an outstanding environment delivering academic excellence that is based on a multilingual teaching. Our education embraces cultural diversity and promotes an international outlook to empower future generations and make meaningful contributions to our world.

LFKL students follow a French curriculum leading to the French Baccalaureate that includes a European section, they benefit from a high standard education that includes cultural, artistic, technical, scientific, literary and sports activities.

Courses are provided by qualified French teachers attached to the Ministry of National Education and by professional English native-speaking teachers. Open to plurilingualism, the LFKL takes into account the diversity of its students and offers a curriculum adapted throughout their schooling.

The school offers an early English program for kindergarten students through educational activities, by group level, taking into account the diversity of their language levels. In secondary school, in addition to English, students have the opportunity to learn 4 languages (German, Spanish, Mandarin and Bahasa Melayu) and receive international certifications every year (Cambridge, DELF, DELE, IELTS). Most of our students become bilingual or trilingual at the end of their studies.

The LFKL enables students to access the best international universities and top higher institutions.
The school is known for its outstanding results at the French national examinations (100% success rate at the Baccalaureate, with 83% of Graduation with honours at the 2019 session). Last year, 45% of the graduates left the LFKL to study abroad (in Canada, England, Australia, Switzerland, Spain, the United States, Malaysia, Indonesia and Lebanon) in prestigious institutions and universities.

Our girls are finishing their first year at LFKL (CM2 and 1ère). They were very well received by both the students and the teaching staff. The classes are small with a good level. For us it is a good option in KL.

My 2 sons attended school there from the end of primary school to the baccalaureate. Small classes, bilingual teaching in several subjects while following National Education programs, teachers attentive to individual development, diverse and varied educational projects, awareness of local cultures, numerous sporting activities and participation in international competitions, etc. ..in 2 words, I recommend!

Very good international school in Kuala Lumpur with reasonable fees. The year over year results and placement at university, whether in France or other countries, speak for themselves. Small classes, good focus on the children for their success. Recommended.

My 2 daughters are at LFKL, and very happy with the school. They joined after having spent 4 years in a local kindergarten. Their english level have not been impacted regardless of lfkl being a french school. The small classes (around 17 kids per class in elementary school) help kids to be very well looked after. They have good facilities too (Gymnasium, climbing wall, football/rugby field, swimming pool).

I have 2 small kids at LFKL, and very happy with the school - 1st kid started 6yrs ago. They joined after having spent 2yrs each in a neighborhood kindergarten before that and have continued progressing their english level regardless of lfkl being a french school. The teachers teams for the small classes are fantastic and kids are very well looked after - classes sizes are small, and from what i've seen through the kids, great educational program/activities/international spirit. Pretty good facilities too and the school management has done some upgrading recently.

My 3 kids have been going to the LFKL since 2013, starting from Kindergarten all the way up to High School. My husband and I are very happy with the results and the level of teaching. The kids are very happy to go to school. They have a very good level of both French and English.
