In 2015, the UAE's premier hairdressing training academy, Salon Educators, rebranded and re-launched as Gloss, a brand combining beauty with style and luxury to raise the standards of hairdressing and education in the Middle East and beyond. Gloss represents the best in hair and beauty services and education, built on the experience and expertise of Salon Educators.

Deborah Whitehead established Salon Educators in 2010 with the aim of providing high quality hairdressing education in an academy in Dubai and in salons throughout the Middle East. Within its first year it achieved City & Guilds approval to deliver VRQ training and qualifications and was recognised as the premier provider of hairdressing education in the UAE. It built upon this reputation with partnership deals with L'Oreal Professionnel to deliver training to salons across the region and with Messe Frankfurt to provide demonstrations and workshops at Beautyworld ME in 2011, 2012 and 2013.

A further partnership with leading online education producer MyHairDressers.com and then MHDAcademy.com provided the company with ground breaking visual learning materials, which standardised education and increased learning speed and retention. Together, the new Gloss Salons and Academies provide unmatched quality assurance and British standards of excellence to both clients and students, feeding the hair and beauty industry with experienced, qualified practitioners across the Middle East and providing consumers with the ultimate salon experience.
