Godstowe is a happy and thriving preparatory school for girls aged 7 to 13, approximately a third of whom are boarders. We also have a lively Pre-Prep and Nursery for girls and boys aged 3 to 7.

Godstowe is well known for setting the highest possible standards in all aspects of its provision. Wellbeing comes first, and we take this very seriously. When our pupils are happy, well balanced and settled, they can then learn and reach their potential academically, as well as in the Arts, Sports, Drama and Music.

Godstowe enjoys an enviable reputation in all of these fields. We are a non-selective school that achieves outstanding results. Education at Godstowe however, is about so much more than just results. Every Godstowe girl is unique and our aim is to help girls reach their potential in whatever form that takes.

Children at this stage in their lives have a natural curiosity and thirst for knowledge and we aim to encourage this eagerness to instil in our pupils a love of learning and an interest in the world and all of its beauties and wonders, that will stay with them for life. Above all we want them to have fun and to enjoy every single day at school.

As one of the UK’s only all-girls boarding prep schools, our day pupils benefit from all that the boarding community brings with it – a strong sense of family and community, and the 7am – 7pm clubs and wrap-around care that is available. With more than 50 lunchtime and after-school clubs to choose from, there is a wealth of opportunities for girls to discover their passions and strengths outside of the classroom.

Our girls leave Godstowe as confident young women who are ready to flourish at the Senior Schools of their choice, equipped with skills to learn from their failures and build on their successes.

Our ethos is simple. All we want is for our girls and boys to be Confident, Happy and Successful. Indeed, if the first two are true, the third will almost certainly follow. Success is defined in many ways and we mean successful in the broadest sense: successfully kind, successfully courteous as well as successful in achieving a wide range of goals. We keep our pupils busy and engaged, we entertain and intrigue them, encourage them and excite them.

Happy children are easy to teach. With outstanding, highly qualified teaching staff as well as a strong and experienced pastoral team, excellent facilities, wonderful surroundings, a non-selective intake policy and a more positive, exuberant and industrious atmosphere than you will find in other schools, it is likely that most of our children will be happy to learn, happy to stretch themselves, happy to support each other and happy to do whatever they can to take an active part in their own education.

Godstowe School in Buckinghamshire has not only fostered my child's academic growth through its exceptional British curriculum but has also provided a deeply supportive community of staff that truly cares.
